I Don’t Have to Hide Anymore
I’ve been fighting the wrong fight all my life
I’ve believed in and lived out all the lies
That I’ll never be loved for who I am
That I’ll never be enough
Never be who I was meant to be
I was trying to be someone else—I wasn’t me
I fought to survive—I had to live
Though I knew that at the end I’d lose
There was nothing else I could choose
So I lived out a lie
Hiding myself behind a mask
But I know that my identity lies
Not in wealth or otherwise
I know that I am loved
That love comes from God above
And with God by my side
There’s no need to run
I don’t need to hide anymore.
