Are You a Camouflaged Christian?

We’re not called to be average people.

What I mean by that is this: we are called to be different than the world, and to be like Christ.

I read an interesting quote a while back that made this distinction: “It’s possible to be different from the world and not be like Christ, but you cannot be like Christ without being different from the world.”

1 Peter 2:9 says, “But ye are….a peculiar people..”

We’re set apart. We’re different. So don’t try to live just like all the people around you.

Dare to be a Daniel(as the hymn goes), and stand out for God. We have a responsibility to the lost world, in that we have to show them what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

If they don’t see anything different in us, they would come to the conclusion that Christianity is just the same as what the rest of the world believes.

But our God is real and powerful, the only true God.

It follows that we, as His followers, must live apart from the world. It is not right–it is wrong–to try and follow the world just to “fit in” and be part of the drama.

Live for God, and nothing else. That’s my challenge to you…that’s God’s calling for you, as a Christian.

  1. True. Sometimes I get swallowed up with living my life for God, I easily overlook others. Thanks for the reminder, Owen!
